Hello, I'm Jon Ferguson, proud owner and operator of Ferg's Guided Fishing.
I've been fanatical about fishing for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I've found that there is just one thing I like more than catching fish, it's helping other people catch fish! It truly brings me joy.
Whether you're looking to become a more effective angler, learn a new fishery, or you're just looking to have a great day on the water with co-workers, family or friends, my focus is to create the best experience possible for our guests. Fish will come and go, but great experiences last a lifetime!
Above all else, your safety is my number one priority. I hold a US Coast Guards OUPV Captains License and am CPR/ First Aid Certified.
I'm looking forward to having you aboard for your next adventure!
-Ferg

The Chinook Salmon, also known as the King Salmon, is the biggest of the salmon species. Known for it's size, power and beauty. Chinook are the prize of the Columbia River.
Coho salmon start arriving in the lower Columbia River in August and gradually increase in numbers through September. While not as large as Chinook, Coho are an aggressive and hard-fighting fish that add another layer of excitement to the fall fishery. You never know if it will be a powerful Chinook or an acrobatic Coho on the end of your line.

If you're considering Ferg's for your next trip, I'd like to share some of our values with you to see if we are a good fit for what you are you looking for.
1) Experience- We prioritize the overall experience. We're here to have fun and want you to enjoy your time on the water.
2) Professionalism- You'll be treated with respect from start to finish.
3) Honesty- We will give you accurate updates on fishing trends and what to expect. While fishing can, and often does change from one day to the next, we will shoot you straight. We believe strongly in "under promise, over deliver", not the other way around.
4) Preparation- We go to great lengths to ensure we do everything possible to prepare for a successful trip. We don't cut corners. From gear, bait and boat maintenance to learning each fishery inside and out.
5) Lifelong Customers- We're not looking to just fill seats. Our goal is to treat our guests in such a way that they will become clients for life.
We guide out of a newer, custom built 22' open sled that was designed for performance, safety and comfort. It's a beautiful boat, every detail was carefully designed with our customers in mind.
The boat is outfitted with top of the line gear, accessories and electronics. The electronics we utilize give us the ability to quickly determine fish travel lanes and observe their interactions with our gear, which helps us dial in a pattern and fish efficiently.
We keep our boat meticulously clean, we want our guest to be comfortable. We also believe that cleanliness helps keep our boat fishy! We scrub the boat down after every trip and scrub all of our gear down before every trip! Details matter.
In our pursuit of creating a world-class experience for our customers, we spare no expense. Our boat and our gear reflect that.
We are proud to use products from companies that share our values of quality and high levels of customer service.
